Description of the organization's activities
CFC is a national organization representing chicken producers. It is a non-profit organization which regulates production of chicken under the supply management system. CFC’s chief responsibility is to ensure that Canadian chicken production meets domestic needs. The agency plays a key role in developing Canada’s international agricultural trade policy by representing producers interests with the federal government. Chicken farmers of Canada is a national, farmer-run (chicken producers) organization.

One non-voting Chairman and 4 voting non-producers Directors representing processors, further processors and restaurateurs. There is also a 4 member Executive Committee consisting of 1 producer from each region (central, western and Atlantic provinces) plus one producer to represent regional balance.
