Description of the organization's activities: The OMA represents the interests of Ontario physicians. It provides leadership for physicians in promoting the highest standards of health and heatlh care for the public. The OMA performs a wide variety of activities at the provincial and federal level such as advocating health promotion, disease and accident prevention, developing strategies and policies relating to health care, facilitating change within the medical profession, providing guidance and leadership for physicians by assisting them to influence, manage and adapt to change in the health care system, representing physicians in issues of compensation and physician human resources in Ontario.
