- Changes to the Current Hazardous Products Act for Noisy Toys. The current Hazardous Products Act bans toys emitting noise levels exceeding 100 dB. Canadian Association of Speech Language and Audiology Canada (CASLPA)
would like this legislation changed to 75dB.
- National Concussion Strategy-The need for a national strategy on concussion and the role of SAC's member profession.
- National Seniors Strategy-to discuss the role of communication health professionals in a national seniors strategy.
- Taxation and Finance - Changes to the disability tax credit for hearing including advocacy to amend the Income Tax Act.

- Guidelines for Children's Hearing Health- National guidelines for early hearing detection and intervention.
- Include the services of audiologists and speech-language pathologists in an aging at home tax benefit
- National Autism Strategy-The need for a national strategy on autism spectrum disorder and the role of SAC's member professions in such a strategy.
Policies or Program
- Budget - include a national program that ensures universal access to newborn hearing screening and include programs to facilitate the early identification and intervention of speech and language disorders in young children.
- Health - to discuss improved policies around audiology benefits through the federal health care partnership Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Department of national Defense (DND) and Health Canada)
- Include Speech-Language and Audiologists in the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program
- Introduction of Acoustical Standards for Classrooms in Canada or adoption of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards (US).
- S-LP Services in Canada- need for a national study to better understand — and ultimately improve — the delivery of speech-language pathology services available to children and adolescents.

Description of the organization's activities
Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) / Orthophonie et Audiologie Canada is the premiere national association that supports the needs, interests and development of speech-language pathologists, audiologists and communication health assistants across Canada. Speech-language pathologists and audiologists are professionals who evaluate and treat people across the spectrum of life who have speech, language, swallowing, hearing and balance disorders. They may be employed in various settings including schools, hospitals, nursing homes, day cares, and private practice. SAC offers various membership benefits as well as public awareness and advocacy work.
