Policies or Program
- Continuation of fincanical support for the Publications Assistance Program at Canadian Heritage. Development of a new program as a renewal of the Publications Assistance program. The Publications Assistance Program provides support to Canadian content magazines to ensure affordable access to Canadian readers. The program will be replaced with the new Canada Peridocal Fund. Magazines Canada is providing recommendations and information to government on the design of the new program.
- Continued financial support for the Canada Magazine Fund at the Department of Canadian Heritage and the development of a new program to replace the current Canada Magazine Fund
- Monitoring the development of Arts and Culture Policy, Magazines and Periodical Policy with respect to maintaining a supportive policy environment for the creation of Canadian editorial content in magazines and its distribution, at affrodabel rates, to Canadian readers
- Promoting Canadian magazines as a vehicle for federal government advertising
