• Continue to advocate for changes to C-28 to preserve ability of financial service advisors to communicate with consumers in an efficient, legitimate and cost-effective manner.

Policies or Program

• GST - We will advocate for a fair sales tax on investment management services with the rate set to yield an equivalent tax to that on exempt non-fund products.
• National securities regulator - The new National Securities Legislation and how it will best meet the challenges of securities regulation across the country.
• Retirement Savings - Improve the retirement system in Canada with a robust financial advisory approach in conjunction with the stability of other universal and employer-based plans.

Policies or Program, Regulation

• Bill C-28, the Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act, with respect to following the development of accompanying Regulations to the Bill. We are particularly interested in any impact on third party referrals by finacial services professionals.
