Regulation

Appropriate Level of Broadcast Licence Fees (Broadcast Licence Fees Regulation) payable by broadcasting companies as a result of having a broadcasting licence issued by the CRTC. These fees are categorized as Part 1 fees, which are based on the broadcasting regulatory costs incurred each year by the CRTC and other federal departments or agencies; and Part II fees, which are assessed under the CRTC’s Broadcasting Licence Fee Regulations, 1997 under section 11 of the Broadcasting Act. The Part II Fees are calculated based on a licensee's gross revenue derived from broadcasting activities. As a broadcasting company, it is in our interest to monitor any developments or changes with respect to this Regulation.
