Subject Matter: Retrospective: We have exchanged correspondence, phone calls and e-mails with officials in the Competition Bureau regarding their consultations on predatory pricing, self-regulated professions and review of the Competition Act and issues under the Competition Act.
Subject Matter: Prospective: In the next six months, again we will monitor any changes proposed by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions that may impact the regulatory environment for title insurance companies. We will monitor the review of the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We will monitor the self-regulatory professions report of the Competition Bureau and participate in any subsequent Competition Act consultations, including hte guidelines for trade associations. Review Canadian Mortgage Housing Corporation (CMHC) initiatives as they affect title insurance and related products.We will approach HRSDC to see if there is any potential opportunity for use of DRN's collections management software in the Canada Student Loan program. We will participate in any consultations around the federal first nations land registry and any issues with respect to the first nations housing fund. We will also be looking for opportunities to support our business development in Atlantic Canada
