Subject Matter: Retrospective: | We made a submission to a Competition Bureau consultation and exchanged correspondence, phone calls and e-mails with officials in the Bureau . We have met with the First Nations Land registrar to learn about their plans to reform the registry. We have also made inquiries about the FN Housing Fund and Canadian Student Loans Programs. | ||||||||||||||||||
Subject Matter: Prospective: | In the next six months, again we will monitor any changes proposed by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions that may impact the regulatory environment for title insurance companies. We will monitor the review of the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We will monitor the self-regulatory professions report of the Competition Bureau and participate in any subsequent consultations. Review Canadian Mortgage Housing Corporation (CMHC) initiatives as they affect title insurance.We will review with HRSDC to see if there is any potential opportunity for use of our collections management software in the Canada Student Loan program. We will participate in the consultations around the federal first nations land registry and any issues with respect to the first nations housing fund.
