Subject Matter: Retrospective: 1 - CCAfrica held a major conference in Calgary on Natural Resources and Africa where there where over 20 African countries represented.2 - CCAfrica, being a membership association, has sought membership as well as some support for its activities from different departments and agencies.3 - CCAfrica has had a number of discussions with officials and ministers concerning the importance of ensuring that a Trade Stratgy be developped for Africa.4 - CCAfrica, in the context of the preparation of the conference on Narural Ressources in Africa, has saught financial support from Canadian International Development Agency and Heritage CAnada.5- CCAfrica consulted with CIDA and DFAIT to support a new intitative: the Business Developpment Servies for Canadian interested in the African markets.6- DFAIT contracted CCAfrica to conduct a national consultation on the developpment of an Africa Trade Strategy.7- We have worked with DFAIT and our missions in Africa to prepare and implement bunsiness missions in Nigeria and Angola.
Subject Matter: Prospective: 1 - CCAfrica is organizating a number of missions in Africa an dwill work closely with a number of Canadian embasses in Africa.2 - CCAfrica will continue its efforts with Gov't departments and agencies towards the implementation of its recommendations from the report on programs and policies and the report on business visas.3- We will work with CIDA on expanding ou economic developpment mission in Africa.
