Description of the organization's activities: The CVMA is the national body representing and serving the interests of the veterinary profession in Canada.
Organization's membership or classes of membership: Regular Membership Any veterinarian who is a graduate of a veterinary college accredited by the NEB or has obtained a certificate of qualification of the NEB or licensed by a provincial licensing organization. Associate Membership Any veterinarian who is not eligible for regular membership in the CVMA is a graduate of a veterinary college listed by the CVMA may become an Associate Member upon payment of the dues. Retired Membership CVMA Life Membership Any veterinarian may be designed by the Council as a Life Member. CMVA Honourary Membership Any person who has rendered distinguished service to the profession, whether he resides in Canada or elsewhere, may be designated by the Council as an Honourary Member. Provincial Life/Honorary Membership Member who has been granted the status of life or honourary membership by a provincial association Student Membership Any undergraduate student of an accredited Canadian veterinary college. Member in a graduate studies program. Member registered in a grauate studies program of a Canadian university, college or other institution.
