| Objets poursuivis : Renseignements rétrospectifs : | At the end of November 2005, in conjunction with the Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers, Julia Fletcher of Railpower Technologies met with several Members of Parliament of the New Democratic Party on Parliament Hill to discuss numerous issues related to the railroad industry including the environmental technologies available in the railroad industry and why there should be increased funding to promote the use of those technologies, and that railroads are taxed more than other comparable industries.Met with Environment Canada to inform Environment Canada of the environmentally friendly technologies available in the rail transportation industry. No elected officials were in attendance.On October 24, Julia Fletcher participated in "Rail Day on the Hill" with the Railway Association of Canada." Several meetings of approximately one half hour in duration of 4 to 5 people from the railway industry were arranged with Members of Parliament and Senators to discuss financial issues facing the railway industry and to communicate the strides that the railway industry has made to become more environmentally friendly and why there should be more financial support to help Railroads implement environmentally friendly technology. Julia Fletcher was scheduled to meet with MP Ed Fast although she was unable to attend that meeting. Julia Fletcher did meet with MPs Don Bell of North Vancouver, BC and Vic Toews, Minister of Justice, of Provencher, Manitoba, and Senator Mac Harb. | ||||||

Communicate with the ministries of Environment, Finance, Industry, and Transport when possible through in-person meetings, telephone, mail and e-mail.As of November 17, 2006 Railpower will cease to continue formal lobbying activities. | ||||||
