The National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL) works to achieve substantive equality and the realization of human rights for all women in Canada through legal education, research, strategic intervention, coalition work and feminist law reform advocacy, particularly at the federal level. NAWL lobbies for changes to federal and provincial laws and regulations. We consult with government officials on legal issues of concernt to women, and provide legal expertise in the service of Canadian women's groups. NAWL also organizes public education activities through our free online Femininst Law Reform 101 course and our Feminist Law Reform workshops. NAWL strives to : achieve substantive equality within the legal system; eliminate violence against women; advocate for the rights of women impacted by the climate crisis; remove barriers that limit access to equality for all groups of women; establish a fairer deal for women and childen in the event of a divorce; ensure reproductive choice.
