THE CANADIAN URBAN TRANSIT ASSOCIATION IS THE COLLECTIVE VOICE OF PUBLIC TRANSIT IN CANADA. ITS MISSION IS TO STRENGTHEN PUBLIC TRANSIT'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE QUALITY OF LIFE, ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH, MOBILITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF CANADIAN COMMUNITIES, AND TO HELP MEMBERS FULFILL THEIR MANDATES. ITS GOALS ARE TO ASSIST IN PROVIDING GREATER DIRECTION TOWARDS ACHIEVING ITS MISSION, GOALS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED BASED ON CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS AND THE VISION OF CUTA. KNOWLEDGE - MAXIMIZE MEMBERS' AND STAKEHOLDERS' UNDERSTANDING OF THE TRANSIT BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT AND THEIR ACCESS TO TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL INFORMATION, AND DEVELOP STRATEGIES TO ASSIST THEM IN SUCCESSFULLY MANAGING RELEVANT ISSUES. 3. ASSISTANCE - HELP MEMBERS TO SUCCESSFULLY MANAGE SHARED ISSUES AND IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY, EFFECTIVENESS AND COMPETITIVENESS OF THEIR SERVICES AND PRODUCTS. 4. OUTREACH - STRENGTHEN THE TRANSIT INDUSTRY'S POSITIVE IMAGE AND IMPROVE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF TRANSIT'S CONTRIBUTION TO COMMUNITIES. 5. PARTNERSHIP - BUILD STRONGER WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STAKEHOLDERS. 6. ADVOCACY - INFLUENCE PUBLIC POLICY DECISIONS THAT AFFECT TRANSIT, AND HELP MEMBERS PROMOTE PUBLIC POLICY THAT SUPPORTS SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION.
