- Health Canada's Non Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Dental Programs for First Nations patients in Ontario. All matters related to the Ontario NIHB Grid for dental services, the types of covered services, the rate of reimburesment for dentists, NIHB dental program policies and procedures concerning program administration, claims adjudication and payment, and accountability and audit activities. All issues related to the Sioux Lookout Dental Program for the provision of dental services to First Nations in the Sioux Lookout Dental clinic, hospital, and remote communities in the Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay Zones, including service agreements.
Policies or Program
- Competition Bureau Issues. The Competition Bureau launched a study into the self-regulated profession of dentistry. The Bureau will examine the methods and regualting practices used in the industry and examine their potential economic impact. In response to the request made by the Competition Bureau reagrding its study of the market for dental services in Canada, the ODA made a submission of requested infromation. The ODA will continue to monitor the work conducted by the Bureau on various aspects of the oral health care market in Canada.
- Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Dental Program which provides dental services for veterans. All issues related to covered dental services, program administration, claims adjudication, fee structure, policy or benefit level changes are of interest to the ODA.

Description of the organization's activities
The Ontario Dental Association (ODA) is the voluntary professional organization which represents over 6,800 dentists, more than 80% of the dentists of Ontario. The ODA supports it members, is dedicated to the provision of exemplary oral health care and promotes the attainment of optimal health for the people of Ontario. As a professional organization representing independent health practitioners, the ODA is committed to the delivery of quality care within an accountability framework outlined under the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Dentistry Act and related profession specific regulations. The ODA believes in and promotes the delivery of patient-centred care based on the individual needs of the patients.
