RTOERO is a bilingual, trusted voice on healthy, active aging. We were founded by members of the education community in 1968. We’ve evolved to become the largest membership organization of our kind - a non-profit and nationwide network. With more than 81,000 members in 51 districts across Canada, we’re influential advocates and the largest national provider of non-profit group health insurance for retirees from the broader education community. RTOERO’s unique mandate and brand position sets us apart from the other competitors in the insurance industry for education retirees. We provide world-class insurance, member services, activities, research, programs, perks and community service. As an organization that does not rely on government funding or external financial resources, RTOERO’s strength membership retention and engagement. We also advocate on behalf of our members and seniors through Vibrant Voices to bring awareness and understanding to issues that affect older Canadians. Vibrant Voices is the name of our political advocacy initiative that focuses on three key issues identified by our members—geriatric health care, developing a national seniors strategy and environmental stewardship. This political advocacy initiative supports RTOERO’s goals to improve the lives of members and to be a trusted voice in the education community.
