Legislative Proposal, Bill or Resolution
- Bill C-343 Family Leave - An Act to Amend the Canada Labour Code and the Employment Insurance Act. FETCO does not support the extension of family leave provisions or the provision of employment insurance benefits beyond the leave provisions that are currently provided in Part III of the Canada Labor Code - Labour Standards
- Bill C-386 An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (Replacement Workers). FETCO wants to retain the right of federally regulated employers to use replacement workers in the event of a strike or lock-out.
- Bill C-395 An Act to amend the Employment Insurance Act. FETCO does not support an amendment to the Employment Insurance Act such that the time that an employee is absent from work as a result of a strike or lockout would be counted as part of the qualifying period for Employment Insurance Benefits.
- Bill C-471 An Act respecting the Implementation of the Pay Equity Task Force. FETCO does not support the repeal of the Public Sector Equitable Compensation Act or the implementation of the recommendations of the Pay Equity Task Force
- Bill C-481 A Bill to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Canada Labour Code to remove provisions that permit mandatory retirement.
- Bill C-501 an Act to amend the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act regarding Super-priority creditor status for pension plan solvency deficiencies. FETCO's role is to present the point of view of major federally regulated employers.

Description of the organization's activities
Federally Regulated Employers - Transportation and Communications (FETCO) represents the major federally regulated companies and employers’ associations in the transportation and communications sectors in Canada.
FETCO members collectively employ approximately 590,000 employees, of which, approximately 212,000 are represented by labour unions. FETCO members employ the vast majority of unionized employees covered by the Canada Labour Code.
The mission of FETCO is to significantly influence positive public policy outcomes for member companies operating in the federal jurisdiction of Canada covering all laws and regulations pertaining to employment and human resources in the workplace, including:
labour relations
occupational health and safety
employment standards
employment equity
pay equity
human rights in the workplace
workers compensation
personal information and privacy in the workplace
pandemic preparedness
private sector and public pension policy
where warranted, FETCO will involve itself in all other laws and regulations pertaining to employment matters including provincial public policy issues that could influence Federal legislation and federally regulated employers
